アーティストとともに“つくる”を体験する「OPEN STUDIO」

At MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2026, an "OPEN STUDIO" will appear on BOND STREET, a space where visitors can freely enjoy creating art. Based on the theme of "Create, Experiment, and Get Your Hands Moving," it will be a place where anyone can easily get involved in art creation, using the paper and art materials provided at the venue. Furthermore, for three days from October 10th (Sat) to 12th (Mon/Holiday), workshops will be held with festival exhibiting artists as instructors. Participants can create their own works by actually getting their hands dirty, while learning about the expressions and production methods of each artist in calligraphy, crafts, woodblock printing, and dot painting.
Enjoy the unique experience of "OPEN STUDIO," where you can encounter art not just by viewing it, but by creating it yourself.

Saturday, October 10th
Hanayuki | "A Calligraphy Experience to Record Your Day" 13:00-14:30
We will be holding a workshop where we will write a single kanji character together with calligrapher Kasetsu.
Hanayuki was born in Kyoto in 1975. In her childhood, she encountered the Chinese literature of Shizuka Shirakawa and developed an interest in the origins and formation of Chinese characters. Currently, she publishes works that question the relationship between "language," one of the major elements that shape human society, and humans, and also regularly holds workshops on writing single Chinese characters.
I write down what I felt or what left an impression on me during the day, summarizing it in a single kanji character.

Ryoichi Aizawa | "Let's make our own 'Drawing Go Dolls'" 15:00-16:30
A craft workshop led by Ryoichi Aizawa, who focuses on painting and explores expressions that are not bound by existing techniques.
Based on the idea that "nothing Towani," Aizawa creates works such as pieces where paint is dripped onto plants, and ceramic works depicting her deceased pet dog. She also organizes "Drawingo no Kai," a gathering place where artists can interact and create together.
In this workshop, participants will create their own unique "drawing ingo figures" using their own ideas and creativity.

Sunday, October 11th
Misa Tsuchiya | "Woodblock Printing Experience" 13:00-13:30, 14:00-14:30, 15:00-15:30
Animals have long been a favorite motif for artists, and the animals depicted have varied depending on the era and region, each expressed using unique techniques. I am trying to pioneer new forms of animal expression using the traditional technique of water-based woodblock printing.
While exploring the inherent form and inner qualities of animals through her own perspective, Tsuchiya has recently been creating works that explore human society through the lens of animals. In this workshop, participants will experience firsthand the "printing" process of woodblock printing, which is central to Tsuchiya's artistic expression.

October 12th (Monday/Holiday)
Momomi Chida | "Let's draw a picture starting from a single point" 13:00-13:45 14:00-14:45 15:00-15:45
Born in Chiba is a painter currently residing in Tokyo. Inspired by the Aboriginal art of Australia, she creates her own unique dot paintings. Chida paints by layering individual dots. Just as a single dot cannot form a picture, people also live by interacting with one another. In this workshop, participants will begin by drawing a single dot and create a picture by connecting the dots, creating a time to feel "connection" and "balance."
